COVID-19 PROCEDURES
As the state and nation continue to experience COVID-19, Children’s Dental Associates wants to let you know we are prepared and taking every measure possible to ensure your safety while trying hard to make sure our office is the same safe and friendly space it was before the pandemic. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
We are maintaining the highest standards for infection control on a daily basis. This includes universal precautions, personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, eyewear) as well as sterilization and disinfection of all surfaces. We do this with every single patient, every single day.
We have always followed and will continue universal precautions for the welfare of our patients and staff. This includes:
- Wearing new, disposable gloves while treating each patient.
- Wearing a face mask covering our mouth and nose and protective eye wear while treating patients. We ask our patients and their guests to wear face coverings in our clinics too.
- Washing our hands or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer between every patient.
- Wiping the treatment chair, the countertops and cabinets in the room after we see each patient with the highest-level disinfectant designed for hospitals and healthcare settings.
- Bagging and heat sterilizing all our instruments.
In our non-treatment areas, we are increasing our diligence in wiping our counters and doorknobs multiple times during the day with disinfectant wipes. We have hand sanitizer available at the check-in and check-out counters for your use.
During this new normal with COVID-19, we ask our patients and families for the following considerations:
- BEFORE APPOINTMENT: A “COVID Supplemental Health Questionnaire” will need to be completed. If any of the questions are answered yes, your child’s appointment will be rescheduled at least 14 days from the original appointment.
- TIME OF APPOINTMENT: When you arrive at our office, you may remain in your vehicle if you wish. Call our office number to let us know you have arrived. You will be informed if you need to come in to complete paperwork. We will call you when we are ready for your child to come in.
- HEALTH SCREENING QUESTIONS: Health screening questions will be asked (even if you answered them prior to arrival).
- TEMPERATURE CHECK will be performed on your child and any accompanying adult. Any patient or family member having a temperature over 100.3 will be rescheduled. Temperature checks are also performed for our doctors and staff upon arrival in the morning and again when returning from lunch break.
- IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE SENDING YOUR CHILD IN WITH A STAFF MEMBER, THAT IS PREFERRED. We will walk them back to your car at the completion of the appointment, and you will be given a thorough report of your child’s visit. If you would rather accompany your child inside, ONE adult may come in and stay for the appointment, ADULTS MUST BRING YOUR OWN FACE COVERING AND WEAR IT AT ALL TIMES WHILE INSIDE. Due to our limited supply of masks, we will be unable to provide masks to everyone.
- OUR DOCTORS ARE EVEN MORE FOCUSED ON CARING FOR YOUR CHILD. We are doing things a little differently at the office since we implemented more strict infection control measures. There is no one more qualified to clean your child’s teeth than their pediatric dentist. Please be assured that either a dental hygienist or a pediatric dentist will provide care for your child at every check-up. One of our pediatric dentists provides a thorough examination of your child at every visit.
Please call us with any questions. As always, our PRIMARY concern is to help your child feel COMFORTABLE, SAFE AND LOVED during their visit with us.
